Reviews and Ratings
I felt lucky to have the very best room on the property, but it needs updating with chipped paintwork, blackened grout, and carpet stains. The cost of £200 per night for 2 coffees and 2 cakes seemed a bit steep, though.
I was lucky to stay in the very best room on the property, the Knight Rider House at St Georges. The breakfast was delightful, and upon entering, I was truly impressed.
I absolutely loved my stay at the Salutation! The rooms were a delight to sit in - large, airy, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable with a duck-down duvet and Egyptian cotton sheets. The location was very good, walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The dining experience had its ups and downs with fantastic French fries but a disappointment in the quality of the cooked breakfast. Overall, a lovely place with friendly staff, despite a few flaws.
The hotel had a very small, dark room that was adequate but not luxurious for the price paid. The service was friendly and very helpful, especially Tigger the manager who was on great form. The location was in walking distance to shops and restaurants, but with some issues like a black mold patch in the wardrobe. The dining experience was nice with a good variety of options. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.
The hotel is situated right in the middle of the floor just beyond the door, which is intriguing. The rooms were large and full of character being located in the main house, but very dark especially considering the price. The service was welcoming and friendly, showing us to a spacious and comfortable room with fabulous views, although sometimes hard to reach due to the staff being preoccupied. The location offers access to a patio area and nearby pubs and restaurants, though service issues affected the overall experience. The dining experience was not great despite a good dining room overlooking the garden. The facilities were satisfactory.
The hotel's location was stunning, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms, though spacious and light, didn't meet the luxury expectations for the price. Service was friendly but lacked structure and management guidance. The dining experience was basic and not up to par with local quality food. With intriguing features but neglected service areas, it's a mix of positive and negative aspects.
The hotel offers beautifully furnished rooms that are spacious and comfortable with fabulous garden views. The service goes beyond excellence with staff always willing to assist. The location is conveniently close to shops and restaurants, though some maintenance issues were noted. The dining experience, led by Graham, had some shortcomings but was satisfactory. The facilities provided make for a pleasant stay overall.
The hotel offers smart and clean rooms with a spacious bed that needs to be seen. The service was welcoming and friendly, despite an incident of bare-chested kitchen staff. The location is walking distance to shops and restaurants but marred by damp issues. The dining experience was disappointing, with overcooked food. The facilities were decent but not exceptional.
The hotel offers lovely and spacious rooms in the main house with a beautiful view of the gardens and church. The service is friendly and helpful, although some staff may seem clueless at times. The location is stunning, walking distance to shops and restaurants, but attention is needed for maintenance issues like mold in the ceiling. The dining experience may have room for improvement, especially for breakfast. Overall, a charming hotel with great potential.
The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms stocked with complimentary items, making it a delightful stay. However, the dinner service was slow and somewhat expensive. Overall, it was a lovely and wonderful experience, highly recommend to all guests.
